Michael A. Mitchell is responsible for providing legal advice to The Ohio State University Research Foundation on matters of sponsored research and intellectual property strategy, the Office for Technology Licensing on matters of spin off ventures and licensing, Trademark and Licensing Services on matters of intellectual property protection, and The Ohio Supercomputer Center and OARnet on technology and telecommunications matters. Previously he was in private practice in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio where he specialized in the representation of technology companies. He also served as General Counsel for an energy and logistics company with operations in 22 states. Mr. Mitchell has spoken frequently regarding the financing of emerging technology ventures,the commercialization of intellectual property and has taught Business Law and Intellectual Property classes at OSU. Mr. Mitchell received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, G.B. and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
