Kim's primary areas of responsibility include:
- Litigation Management
- Labor Law and Employment Law
- Employment Policy
Kim manages the university's litigation matters, coordinating the oversight of cases being handled by the Ohio Attorney General's office and by Special Counsel. She advises the university regarding labor and employment matters, and counsels senior University officials regarding labor law, personnel practices and policies. Kim also plays a key role in the negotiation of the university's contracts with organized labor.
Prior to joining Ohio State, Kim was with the law firm of Porter, Wright, Morris and Arthur, L.L.P. where she represented large and medium sized businesses in labor and employment matters. She litigated before Ohio courts, including the Tenth District Court of Appeals and federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Kim makes presentations on labor and employment law topics to university audiences as well as to outside groups and organizations, including the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, Lorman Associates, and the Council on Education in Management.

Education
Kim is a 1989 graduate of Northwestern University, earning a B.A. in Political Science, and a 1992 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Honors
In 1997, Kim was awarded Business First's 40 Under 40 Award. In 2001, she was awarded the Outstanding Recent Alumna Award by the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. In 2006, Kim was recognized by the Ohio Supreme Court for her service as Vice-Chair of the Court's Task Force on Pro Se and Indigent Litigants. Kim was also recognized in 2006 by Law and Politics Magazine, Cincinnati Magazine and NorthernOhioLive as an Ohio Super Lawyer.
