Stacey L. Bennett Associate Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel

Before coming to Ohio State, Stacey was Section Chief of Business Counsel for Ohio Attorneys General Richard Cordray and Mike DeWine where she worked on services contracts, complex asset purchases and transfers, and public-private partnerships for dozens of State clients. Prior to her service with the Attorney General’s Office, Stacey practiced in-house with Verizon Communications; in private practice with the Washington, DC office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP; and as an Enforcement Attorney at the Federal Election Commission. Stacey also served from 2004-2005 as clerk to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia.

Areas of Primary Responsibility

  • Leads the Office of Legal Affairs' Business and Transactional group, and oversees the provision of legal services on all University transactional, business and financial legal matters.
  • Serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, and acts as primary point of contact for the provision of legal services related to the cancer program's business and regulatory matters.
