Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Dan is the primary business transactions counsel for the Office of the Chief Information Officer, WOSU, and the Wexner Center for the Arts.   His duties include legal matters involving OARnet, Ohio-Tech, and the Ohio Super Computer Center, and Data Security.  He works closely with OSU Purchasing and internal clients involving matters of public contracting.     

This is Dan’s second tour at the Office of Legal Affairs, first serving as an Assistant General Counsel in the Business Transactions Group from 2007 to 2013.   He served as an Associate General Counsel at the University of Cincinnati from 2013-2016, including serving for a period as Interim General Counsel.   Prior to entering the world of Higher Education, Dan served as an in-house counsel for First Group America, and spent several years in firm practice.
